I did not know or have heard of Randy Simmons prior to his death, but his death opened my eyes to all the amazing things he has done for the people and their community he served. This travesty has allowed me to get to know who Randy Simmons really was! His ministry and mission has truly been an inspiration me to.
If you do not know who Jesus Christ was.... Look at the life of Randy Simmons lead, what a great example.
I pray for his family… how hard it must be that he is gone. Yet how exciting it must be knowing he is with GOD!

Life is great but also funny.I remember Randy and he was always smiling. He was very good friends with a D/3 at my assigned duty station. I would always say hi to him when he was getting out of his work car after a long day at work and he would be getting into his personal vehicle. Several times he would say have a good watch or becareful on watch tonight. For me it was a savior of protection to help get me through the night. Why I say life is funny, its because now I sit there waiting for his work car to pull up just to say hi. But its okay He is in Heaven.... I now have a picture of him with the law enforcement paryer and I have placed it in my T-Plate compartment in my Vest.May the Lord bless his family and know my family will always be there for Lisa and the Kids........................

Randy was an awesome man of God. I thank God for the time I went to the Billy Graham Training a few years ago with him and 2 other people. I thank God for being able to worship with him and Friday Night Prayer.............I can still see him standing and praying. I can still see him in the front with his beautiful wife and lovely daughter and a son who just reflected what type of father he was. I cherish that Sunday before he went to be with the Lord.........I can still hear the few words he said, when I spoke to him. He definitely love the LORD and you knew it. I was privileged to see him in action with the Glory Kids, pray and preach........and I thank him for letting me see the Jesus in him. He has definitely made me examine myself and stay focus on the LORD.
Lisa, Gabriele and Matthew are in my prayers everyday..........and I know God will be their strength.....and will see them through this loss.
Be comforted by the word of God, read Isaiah 57:1-2
....The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart;devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace;they find rest as they lie in death.

It has taken me a while to place a message on this message board due to the hearbreak I have felt while watching the arrangements of officer Simmons on Feb 15th 2008. I am truly sorry for the family's loss, LAPD loss and the SWAT team loss. After watching officer simmons funeral I became inspired to become a better person inside and out. I work with At-Risk youth like officer simmons did, and I will do everything in my power to be the best mentor and advocate for the kids just as Randy would have wanted. I know Jesus is with him and he's waiting for us on the other side of those heavenly gates.I will continue to keep the Simmons family in my prayers and god bless you. (love you)

I do not know Randy or his wonderful family but as I watched the funeral on TV I was so moved by all that was said. The words of his sister and sisters in law and all his family menbers were so moving. He was such a wonderful man and officer and husband and father and son and brother and he was such a man of God. He did so much for the children of the community and others. His life makes all of us want to do more and leave a mark in life as he has done. I sat and watched the whole service and cried as if I knew him personally the whole time. And I have been thinking about all that was said ever since and I know that I will be thinking about it for a long time to come. If we all had his attitude and love for all people, this world would be in a better place. I will be praying for his family and fellow officers at this time of bereavement. Thank God for people like Randy. He has really touched my life and makes me strive to be a better person.

To The Simmons Family,
As we have watched the news reports and the great outpouring of love from throughout the world it is a blessing to know that God has placed a solider for the Kingdom in our midst to touch so many lives. As children of God's precious Kingdom we say Officer Randy like the great Apostle Paul "fought a good fight" and finished his course. As a native Californian, never have I seen such an outpouring of love, honor, respect and support for a another fellowman as it has been shown for Officer Randy. So family rest in the comfort and peace knowing that only God can orchestrate His favor on this level to use a man's life to tell the world that we must be about our Father's business and He used Officer/Minister Randy to let us know we must help change this dying world. As I viewed the entire funeral services on television I was both overcome by tears and my heart wad filled with joy to see how God saw fit for this man of God to be rewarded for the work he fulfilled in His Kingdom. As Minister Randy fulfilled much of his ministry in the streets through day to day police work he encountered and reached many souls while doing his job. Our prayers are with the family and we say take courage knowing that we shall see Officer Randy again as we also take on that glorified body in the heavenly realm.
May God bless you, keep you and may His face shine upon you and
give you peace.
God Bless You!

To the Simmons Family,
Although I never had the honor or privilege of meeting Randy, I was heartbroken upon hearing of his passing and cried during today's television broadcast of his funeral and burial service. However, I praise God for the beautiful and exemplary life he lived, all in service for the Master! While we may never understand on this side of Heaven why God allowed Randy's life to be cut short, rest assured you will see him again one day when time shall be no more and there will be no more sorrow, pain, sickness or death.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I'll continue to pray that God will strengthen and keep you as you move forward. I understand the overwhelming pain that comes in losing someone you love. Cherish the memories you have of him and lean on God and each other for support. May God bless all of you.
With deepest sympathy...

As shown by the life of Jesus, the measure of a mans life is not wealth or posessions but the memories and relationships he leaves behind. Randy's life's legacy is one of love, and joy. His accomplishments are not only of being a great police officer, but of a loving man, husband father, friend.
As with Jesus, of whom he loved so very much, Randy touched everyone that he came in contact with. We are so very lucky and blessed to have had him in our mist.

I have known Randy for over 30 years from our days as teamates at Washington State University. I have have never known a finer man. It doesn't surprise me to hear what a great impact he has had on those he tried to mentor, or those citizens he served. You could not have had a better man guiding you or looking over you. God Bless you Randy, your family as well. I will miss you my friend.

Years ago I was in a Koininia group with Connie Simmons, Randy's mom. She was the proudest mom and spoke wonderful things of her son. My heart and prayers go out to her and to Randy's wife and children. His race is now over and he is with our Lord Jesus Christ! May the comfort and peace that the Holy Spirit imparts be with the entire family. I pray in Jesus' name.

Randy Simmons was a minister at my church, Glory Christian Fellowship in Torrance. He lead the Glory Kids ministry and would go out to The Projects on Saturdays and teach young kids about God. Although I did not know him personally, I often saw him around and constantly saw and heard about his many wonderful accomplishments in working with the youth. Hearing him speak and merely being in his presence, Randy exuded and exemplified the genteel and humble spirit of a true and devout Man of God. He was definitely one of those rare spirits that emanated peace, love, and kindness. I would have never in one million years guessed that he even worked in Law Enforcement and was shocked to only learn this when I learned of his death. But we mustn't mourn Randy- I am certain he is with our Heavenly Father.
