Lynn Casani Obituary

CASANI, Lynn On Saturday evening, after a long and hard fought struggle with cancer, Lynn returned her soul to the Lord. She passed in the Huntington Hospital. Her final hours were peaceful with all of the family and several of her closest friends at her side. Lynn was an unimaginably caring and giving person. She was the loving wife of John Casani and mother to five sons, John, Jason, Josh, Drew, and Andrew, and the surrogate mother to many, many more. "Mrs. C." or "Mom" was loved by many as a confidante and a source of constant encouragement and inspiration. Lynn was an extraordinary woman, who touched the lives of all she met. She will be greatly missed, but her strength, love and passion will survive in all of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She had an innate ability to understand people and put them at ease with her sparkling humor, warmth and empathy. Her gift to others was her unconditional acceptance and making everyone feel loved, valued and always welcome in her home. Born in Bahia, Brazil on April 19, 1942 to Jerome Seitz and Aydeth Santaritta, she grew up and was raised in Altadena by her stepfather Anatol Roshko and Aydeth. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family would like to establish a scholarship fund at Loyola High School. If you care to contribute, please make a check payable to the Lynn Casani Scholarship Fund, and mail to: Loyola High School 1901 Venice Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90006 Cabot & Sons, Pasadena directors

My deepest condolences to the Casani family. Although I only had a few interactions with Mrs. C, her warmth came through on our first meeting.

My prayers are with you.

Mrs. Casani will be missed by so many people. She was among the very first people we told when we found out we were expecting our first child, and she reacted like we were making her a happy grandmother. Her boys were like cousins to me while we grew up. Her hospitality at her home, especially December 31-January 1, was legendary. Mrs. Casani, I'm sure you've already heard "Well done" from Him. I simply say "thanks".

Lynn was such a warm, outgoing, classy woman who will be remembered fondly by all who met her. May the love and laughter you shared with her throughout her life bring you all comfort during this difficult time.
