Fuller, Irvin William
July 13, 1927 - April 18, 2009
Irvin William Fuller, Jr., AIA was born July 13, 1927 in Berwick, Louisiana, the only son of Irvin William Fuller, Sr. and Edith Naomi (Coleman) Fuller. A veteran of the US Army, he received his BS in Architecture from Tuskegee Institute in 1954. A native of New Orleans, LA, Irvin moved his family to Los Angeles, CA in 1960 where he was a practicing architect for forty-seven years. He worked with Vincent Proby, Herman C. Light, Krumm & Sorensen, and later Rochlin and Baran Architects and Engineers, where he remained as an associate and project architect for twenty-seven years. Irvin was a commissioner for the California State Board of Architectural Examiners, grading written exams and administering oral exams to state licensure candidates.
Irvin is survived by his wife, Chaulmaine Ballard Fuller, Ph.D of Los Angeles, CA, his seven children, Keith Fuller of Charlottesville, VA, Claire Fuller, M.D. of Pasadena, CA, Brian Fuller, M.D. (Brenda) of Charlottesville, VA, Irvin S. Fuller (Montae) of Los Angeles, CA, Julie Fuller, M.D. of Pasadena, CA, Daniel Ezcurra-Fuller (Maria) of Oakland, CA and Nicole Fuller-Elgh (Mathias) of Los Angeles, CA, his sister, Ivora Peazant of Berkeley, CA, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at the Holy Cross Chapel, 5835 W. Slauson Ave., Culver City on Tuesday April 28th. Interment will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Loyola High School Student Scholarship Fund, Loyola High School 1901 Venice Blvd. Los Angeles, CA, 90006, (213) 381-5121 in memory of Irvin W. Fuller, Jr.
