Catherine Apperson Obituary


CATHERINE LLOYD APPERSON   "Ginnie" (Age 70)  
Of Arlington Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2011. Ginnie was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Catherine and William Lloyd. Ginnie graduated from George Mason University with high distinction, earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology. In addition to her loving husband of 51 years, Claude Damon Apperson, she leaves two children and their spouses - George and Renata; Bill and Mary; as well as four grandchildren - Gina, Nick, Jimmy and Sarah.  Ginnie's life was dedicated to her family, church and helping people in need. During her teen years, Ginnie worked at the Seneca Hills Bible Conference in Western PA where her grandfather Reverend Dr. George Miller, a Presbyterian minister, was founder. At Little Falls Presbyterian Church, she served as a Board of Deacons member and volunteered on many committees. She also led as President of the Arlington Interfaith Council; held many roles for the Alzheimer's Association; worked as a Committee Member for the Arlington Commission on Aging; and dedicated her time to Northern Virginia Hotline as a Crisis Intervention Telephone Listener.  Throughout her life, Ginnie was God's faithful servant. Her family, friends and community lost a wonderful person and she will be missed dearly. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 12 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Little Falls Presbyterian Church in Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:Alzheimer's Association, 3701 Pender Drive, Suite 400, Fairfax, VA 22030

I am so very sorry for your loss. Words can not explain. At this time we must believe in the lord and be happy for she is in the holy land now and forever and ever until we meet again. God Bless you all.
