My deepest sympathy to all of Richard's family. Richard was my husband's (Bill Nickel) Best Man at our wedding. We were friends for many years before and after our wedding. Krisi (Kristine) was a joy and we loved her dearly. When our son Craig was born, Richard said he was his son, too! When Bill died, Richard was our rock and was there for Craig and myself even after he moved to TX. I was so thankful he met his wife Pamela. For once, he found someone to love and be loved back. Now Bill, Richard, and Craig are together in Heaven. Pamela, I wish I could have known you. And oh how I would love to see Krisi again. Richard will forever be in my heart! May God surround you all with his Grace, Love, and Peace that only He can give us. I am currently in Kingsport, TN; but soon will move to NV. Jan Nickel Murty 904 Cornerstone Ct. Dick, as he was known at Vandalia-Butler HS in Ohio, had a great personality and was always the life of a party. A good friend former classmate and neighbor in Vandalia, Oh, Dick, will be missed!

Rick was a life force who will never be forgotten by his family members and friends. I was lucky enough to meet Rick several years ago. His grandson Mason and I were engaged at the time, and Mason wanted me to meet one of the most important men in his life. Whenever Mason would speak about his grandpa Rick, his whole face would light up. It was clear he had a deep love for his grandfather.
Losing Rick, especially during this pandemic, has been very difficult for the family. I know in the short time I knew Rick I found him to be funny, witty, and charming. He and Pam were a delight as we smiled and laughed whenever we spoke or visited.
I know his loss is felt by his loved ones everyday and that he will always have a special place in the hearts he touched.
