Gill ,I am so sorry to hear about Henry I called to talk to him and found out he had passed. I've known Henry oh probably 40 years he used to come to our office all the time. I knew every time you were pregnant I swear Henry had the same symptoms he would gain weight when you gained weight , he would be sick to his stomach if you were sick to your stomach. He talked to me all the time about his girls and how lucky they were that they got to celebrate every holiday, because he was Jewish and you were catholic. I'm going to miss that laugh of his, he was always so happy and chipper when he was around us. Again so sorry to hear about Henry.

I can't believe it has been 5 years since you left this world. Gail and I have kept in touch and she visited us about a month ago. That was hard on both of us but she needed a chance to unburden what she has carried in her heart. You are missed by many.

I still can't believe it has been 3 years since Hank left us. We met via an online consumer bulletin board perhaps a dozen years ago, maybe longer. We only met once in person but developed a strong bond. I considered Hank to be my best friend.
Over the years we shared and discussed many things on a wide range of topics. Most of our conversations were work related but many were things we both found humorous. Hank had a wonderful, quirky sense of humor that revealed itself when you least expected it.
There are still times when I wish I could send him an email, text or just pick up the phone and call. There is a void in my life that will never be replaced. Our time together on this earth was only a few years but for Gail it was decades and for Hannah and Sarah, it was a lifetime.
Time can heal wounds but the scar will always be there.

Still so shocking to remember this passing. Henry was married to a wonderful lady & dear cousin of mine. I just thought of him yesterday when I met the cutest puppy named Hank!!

I´ve never met Henry but he and I knew each other through our blogs. In a previous life I was the California Medicine Man and he was a frequent commenter. He and I agreed on most things and I used to read his blog religiously as I´ve had an interest in all things related to Health Insurance and he was an expert.
I fondly remember the emails we exchanged and the conversations we had in various comments sections. I was recently thinking about him and came across this sad obituary.
I´ve thought about Henry often and warmly and will always think of him as a friend.
My (belated) condolences to Henry´s family and friends.

I’ve never met, nor will I again, a more friendly, outgoing and all around nice guy. I will think of him and miss him forever.

Hank and I were friends when we were children. When we were in 5th grade he was instrumental in planting a tree at the cemetery in memory of my father. He was always upbeat and encouraging. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Sally and I were saddened to hear of Hank's passing. He was a great neighbor, friend, and past client. He would always stop and chat, either from his car window or walking his dog. We would always laugh and exchange wits with each other. His happy, jovial mood was always refreshing. He will be sorely missed. God rest his soul!

Very sorry to learn of Henry's passing. We frequently communicated on Twitter. I learned a lot from him, as did others.

Sometime -- maybe 12-13 years ago, I discovered Hank's writings on public policy or he discovered mine. I don't recall who found whom. I was in Washington, trying to navigate the raging debate over health insurance. I understood things from an inside-the-beltway, 40,000-foot view. Hank (and his InsureBlog colleagues) patiently walked me through the ground-level perspective of how the laws and regulations really worked in practice. He was a kind, patient, hysterically funny teacher. And I had the privilege of playing a similar role with Hank--sharing the DC perspective. Over the years, in my view, we became good friends--though we were only in the same room one time. Our banter was very public--mostly on Twitter. He was always thoughtful and gracious and willing to change his mind when the evidence contradicted his beliefs. I can't begin to say how much I'm going to miss Hank and how glad I am that we enjoyed quite a number of years together. Shalom, chaver. -- Bob Graboyes

We met on an online blog some years ago, though I am saddened that we'll never be able to meet in person. We supported each other's blogs and he even guest posted on mine. He will be missed.

Gail, I just heard about Hank's passing. I'm at a loss. He has been a part of my Cornerstone life for 20 years. I always enjoyed Hank on a business and personal level. We shared stories and tragedies together. I will miss his laugh and his conversation. My prayers are always with you and the girls.

I was in town with my family checking on my mother after the loss of my father. Words can not express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I have not thought specifically about Mr. Stern for a number of years although I do remember the life lessons that he taught at Temple Beth OR. I can't do anything to ease the family's pain but can say that Hank made an impact in this young man's life. Hank had a quirkiness about him that allowed him to connect with the children. I now use one of Mr. Stern's old jokes today with my kids: " Two wrongs don't make a right but two (W)right's make a plane.Peace be within you.

Deepest sympathy. Hank had always been so kind to me. I saw him comfort his Mother when I visited their home, decades ago. I went to his Miami Valley School graduation. I wish I’d visited more often.

Hank will be dearly missed by his work family at Centerville Insurance Agency where he had a long career as our Life and Health Agent. He was a true professional and respected by many in his field. Hank treated his clients with compassion and caring guidance. As his coworker I had the pleasure to observe this on a daily basis. Rest in Peace Hank, you will always be a part of us.
