Oh my goodness! I always wondered how the Lantz's were. My grandmother is Marie Bowens. She worked for them for many years. Andy, I have never forgotten you all. May God comfort you during your hour of bereavement. I also say thank you for the many acts of kindness shown to my family. I received many things from your parents and I will never forget!

Roda and I shared 47 years of our lives together through many adventures and wonderful times. She was my sister in all ways except blood. I know you made it to heaven Roda, but I may need a little pull from you from above! I love and miss you sweet friend.

Roda Hively was my mom, Peggy Edens's roommate in nursing school. Mom says she was something else. A real perfectionist. She spoke very properly, was very neat and had to have her hair just so. Mom tells the story that she already had a roommate, but after they attended classes together and got to know each other, they decided they wanted to be roommates together. My mom was too shy or embarrassed to say anything to the other student, but Roda was taller and more aggressive and just brought her things over and said she was going to move in and told the other student she would have to move out, which she did. As mom describes it, "Roda's way was the way." Mom says Roda was very smart, an excellent student and a fantastic roommate and they remained roommates throughout nursing school. She speaks very affectionately of Roda. Unfortunately after they both got married and Roda and Jake moved away to Ohio, they did not stay in touch over the years.
