Randal KNIGHT Obituary

KNIGHT, Randal Stephen "Randy" Randal "Randy" Stephen Knight, Magistrate at the Montgomery County Juvenile Court and longtime resident of Dayton, Ohio, passed away suddenly on September 17, 2020, at the age of 61 at his home. Randy is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Dr. Eve Wolf, his children, Arien (27) and Sarah (25) Wolf-Knight, as well as his three cats, Oscar, Maya, and Weiner. Born on April 2, 1959, in Waycross, Georgia, and raised among family in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Randy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History (1988) and later received a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law (1992). Randy spent many years in private practice advocating for the little guy in all areas of commercial and contract law, particularly consumer protection. Randy was a deeply loving husband and father. He lived a full and prosperous life immersed in his many hobbies and interests. While Randy spent most of his time in the courtroom in his robe, he felt just as at home tending to his garden in his Chuck Taylors. An evening spent with Randy meant the warmth of jazz records echoing through the doorway and hours of loving and witty banter: It meant vibrant aquariums full of fish that only he knew the names of, vintage furniture, and quirky video game memorabilia. Randy graced those around him with a unique sharpness and unmatched sense of love. A big boisterous fish who truly stood out in his pond; Randy will be sorely missed, always loved, and never forgotten. A private funeral service will be held at David Cemetery with Rabbi Judy Chessin of Temple Beth Or. A memorial celebrating Randy's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the campaign to elect Joe Biden can be made online at www.joebiden.com or mailed to Biden Victory Fund, PO Box 96663, Washington, DC 20077-7085.

I am completely sad to stumble across this obituary. I was one of his students at Lincoln Tech. He was my favorite teacher! Always had very fun interesting quizzes and test. This man could teach! His lectures were absolutely brilliant. His care for his students showed. I still talk about his class to this day. He made a huge impact on a lot of his students including me. I´m so sorry for this families huge loss.

I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He was always smiling coming into Wright Brothers Post Office to pick up his packages, & I always enjoyed waiting on him.

I am so saddened to hear about Randy. I pray for his family and friends and hope they are at peace knowing he is in a better place. We kept trying to get together to talk and I'm sure laugh at all the good times we had. Not ever being able to do that makes me sad. RIP dear friend ❤

I remember Randy as a kid in Cocoa Florida who was always hanging out with his “cool” older teenage cousin Janet Smith. He loved being with the girls and just being the boy in the room. As an adult we met again in 2017 when his mother was in a nursing home in Dayton, Ohio. The little boy hadn’t changed. It was like he never left. We had dinner with Janet several different visits to Ohio and I always enjoyed his company. He was such a caring loving son and husband. I had always wanted my husband to meet this guy that was such a wonder human being. It never happened, he left us way too soon.
Im so sorry for the loss for his family and his friends. He will be truly missed.
RIP Randy

I went to the round condo yesterday of course it was overcast and nasty I walked down to the beach but it was too rough for this old man to go out alone. Had so much fun at the round condo not a care in the world. I was really looking forward to being the two creepy old guys that hang out at the beach all day doing nothing and having fun. Retirement is not going to be as fun I already know that but we sure had some fun times RIP bro
