ALFRED RINGER Obituary

RINGER, Bishop Alfred Lee Born August 16, 1955, in Rome, GA, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life October 7, 2020. Bishop Ringer was highly respected and endeared by many. "Al" or "Reverend Al", as he was affectionately known, retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio after 35 years of exemplary service. As Founder and Pastor of New Destiny Ministries, Assistant Pastor of Faith Temple PCOG and Midwestern Jurisdictional Bishop of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Bishop Alfred Ringer was steadfast and faithful. He humbly served his NDM congregation, his father, Bishop Eugene Ringer, and Prelate Bishop Sherman S. Watkins of HGAAA. Bishop Ringer ministered with a bold faithfulness, intense adherence to the word of God and an unrelenting sense of excellence. Bishop was also a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, a vigilant son, an attentive brother and uncle, mentor, counselor, and devoted friend. Bishop Alfred Ringer will be remembered for his strength of character, his life of integrity and his pure love for God's people. His wife, Lady Lenora Ringer, along with their children, Elder Jerell (Alicia) and Elder Jaree Ringer, and grandchildren, Taylor Ann and Ellis Jerell, will be eternally blessed by Bishop Ringer's astounding legacy of Godly servitude, sacrifice and loving leadership. Thankful to GOD you're free and equally missed so very much. Who could ever forget a Shepherd who genuinely loved everyone and we knew it without a doubt. Life has not been the same since you left this earth. A rare gem and mighty warrior, teacher, father even to the fatherless. Love you always Dad2

Bishop left a Great Legacy. He was the only Shepherd that ever made me actually want to get and stay saved. Sure we sometimes may lose our way, but there was something special that GOD placed inside of him for people, and his arms were always wide open upon anyone's return. I loved that most about him. It's been difficult to accept that he is no longer with us, but equally thankful that Bishop has no more pain. May GOD continue to strengthen and keep the entire family. I believe he would want them to enjoy life while we all still can.
As he would say, "Jesus is soon to return."

Bishop Ringer,

We miss you so much and I miss the emails and text messages you would send me just to let me know you were thinking about me. Life has been so different without you but I know you are resting in God's arms. Thank you for believing in me and letting me know that God had a great call on my life. You are one of the reasons Faith Builders Ministries exist today and we are forever grateful for you! I love you and will never forget you!

Your Spiritual Son,

Bishop Ringer genuinely had love for his congregation and ALWAYS gave a listening ear. I am so sad that he’s gone away from us here on earth, but I have comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering.
I Thes 4:13-14 “But I would not have you be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him”
Bishop Ringer will always hold a special place in my heart, my prayers are with his family.

My condolences go to Lady Lenora and to the family of Bishop Alfred Ringer. Lives are affected by how we live. For me, his life was a blueprint for future PK’s. His selflessness, humility, kindness were just some of his many attributes. The impact he made in our world will live on. I can always look back to my early days at Faith Temple for my foundation. Alfred was a large part of that. I didn’t have a bible when I first came to Faith Temple and Rev Al gladly gave me his. That was a life changing moment for me.
To give of one’s self
He lived what was preached
Our prayers are with you during this time.

Bishop Alfred Ringer had the character, the leadership and the demeanor that truly reflects what a servant of God should be. He definitely was a 'leader of leaders', and his presence will be sorely missed. As we honor him today, we can surely be thankful that he has left an example of Christian living that we all can unashamedly aspire to be. - Pastor Charles A. Harvey, Jr.

Bishop Alfred Ringer was not only my Pastor but my friend, mentor and he called me his spiritual son. From the day I met him until the time he passed he made it known how much he loved me and my family. He prayed for our ministry and often checked on us to make sure we were okay. When my wife and I finished our PhD’s he was so excited to know that we were accomplishing what we prayed for. There will never be another Mentor/Spiritual Father like him and I will miss him. Bishop thank you for all the emails, phone calls, text messages I love you!!

I first give honor to GOD for blessing all whom Bishop came in contact with for the time he spent here in this life. To First Lady, Lenora Ringer, what a wonderful example of what a Godly husband should be, and I know that some men grabbed ahold of his teachings on how to be great men, and now they have awesome families. What a blessing that most women can only wish to have, and for so many wonderful years! Please know that myself and family send our deepest condolences. My mom and brother always talked about the love Bishop showed and the entire NDM Family when they came to our concert. That’s just one of MANY testaments to Who he was! To Elder Jerell/Alicia, Bishop’s Grands, and Elder Jaree Nicole: What a great Dad who loved you to infinity! How do I know? Because he always showed his love for all of you and as he would say, “Be Sweet” He was just that!! publicly about His Wife and Family! You both have some Giant shoes to fill to continue on with his Legacy, but you’ve been prepared since birth. There’s a book that can be written of such a Great, Anointed and Appointed Man of GOD, but it can’t be written here! I will just say that he has made a huge impact in my life. I am eternally grateful for his pure heart and genuine love for GOD, His Family, Church and even strangers in the streets whom he saw just as worthy as anyone else. He was always there for everyone and I will miss Dad2 dearly. May GOD Bless you all with HIS loving arms for the next days, months and years to come! I love you all so very much!

Bishop will truly be missed. It’s hard to put these things into words, but I am glad I had time and guidance from him which will always stay in my heart. The spiritual insights you have given me to be strong and move forward will be used in my life and my family forever. Bishop has taught me and NDM family to continue to stay strong and as he always said, “it is what is is and do what it do”. No one was ready for this but the Lord seen that your works has always been marvelous in his eyes. First Lady, Jaree and Jerell I will always love you all forever. God bless you!
