The day that I met Bob made me a better person. I was able to consider him a friend, a Brother, for ten years and for that I am blessed. His caring attitude and engaging personality helped many, many people over the years I knew him and I’m sure for many decades before that. When my phone rang and I saw that it was Bob calling, I knew we would talk for 30 minutes about the subject on hand – Vocational Essay, Kite Flying, Golf, RibFest, Food Pantry, Knight Fellowship and so many other topics and ideas that he had and wanted to share. Many of us and sixteen Catholic elementary schools and their students will remember the Vocational Essay video that he worked so hard on with the local Marianists Brother, Novice, Sister and Priest. Wow! It is quite a work!
Last night’s viewing was bittersweet realizing Bob had passed but also remembering him. He was called an Exemplary Catholic Gentleman, what a beautiful title for him. And the praying of the second glorious decade of the Rosary, the Ascension, was very meaningful and reminded us that we have a friend in Heaven. And how beautiful that donations made in Bob’s name will benefit student scholarships.
