Roy JOHNSON Obituary

JOHNSON, Roy Thomas

Roy Thomas Johnson, 92, of Urbana, passed away December 10, 2020, at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born November 23, 1928, in Bidwell, Ohio, the son of Roy Herbert and Myrtle Grace (Simmons) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was an honorable veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. He retired after 35 years as a plumber/pipe-fitter with the UA and was a member of the Local 162. He was a member of the Springfield Elderly United and enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, and going to horse races. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Stan Carpenter of North Lewisburg; grandchildren, Heather (ML) Christopher of Cincinnati and Thomas (Karen) Carpenter of Richwood, OH; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Kiera, Allie, Kayla, Emma, and Carson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris

Johnson. Per Roy's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
