"Marty"
Lamar A. Buskirk "Marty" passed away peacefully on
December 31, 2020. He was
surrounded by loved ones.
Marty was born December 17, 1956, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Emmitt and Phyllis Buskirk.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War era.
Marty worked as a Production Manager at MacMillan Bloedel in Houston Texas before returning home to care for his father. Marty finished his working career at Nissen Chemitech in
London, Ohio in 2017.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ricky, Danny, Charles, and Marvin. Survivors include his spouse Martha (Marty) Morgan Buskirk, his daughters Christie Buskirk and Cherie Buskirk of Texas, Margo Brown sister, numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as lifelong friends
John D. (April) Smith, Harry "Butch" (Debbie) Hughes, Robert "Bob" (Peggy) Sharp, and many other very close loved ones.
Marty will surely be missed, his outstanding sense of humor, his wit, his sincerity as well as his steadfast friendship are
irreplaceable. Marty made friends everywhere he went, his bubbly personality, "cheers to you" attitude, and charisma drew people from every walk of life, he was a jewel and as our friend, we surely loved him.
Private services are selected by a family member. Richards, Raff, & Dunbar Memorial Home has been entrusted with final arrangements.
A private memorial service will be planned by friends in the near future.

Marty was my dear close friend fir 53 years, practically all of our life. We grew up together, bothe joined the military and served honorably together, he a Sailor, me a Marine. We moved to Texas together and began a great working career together. I was his best man at his wedding, I was there with him and his wife Janie for the birth of their first child, ,, he was a great friend. Marty never knew a stranger, when you met him it was so easy to become his friend, he loved people. I will miss my friend, I will have moments of quiet grief from here,, on out. We’ll meet again someday, we’ll tilt that beer and cheer one another. Until then, “so long buddy, save me a cold beer”.

I am marty's former wife and he the father of both my girls Cherie and Christie Buskirk. Marty and I parted ways in 1991. When I found out about him being on life support and the end near, I never realized just how much it would affect me. Something broke inside. I won't know till I get there but I pray marty is in heaven with his family to rejoice with his homecoming.
