Constance PERRY Obituary

PERRY, Constance K.

Our beloved mother, known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Nana", passed on December 20, 2020, at the age of 97. Constance (Connie) K. Perry was born on July 25th, 1923, and resided in Dayton, Ohio, and most recently Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Eldora Breneman, her sister Lorraine, and youngest daughter, Dawn Perry Gustin while survived by her sisters Shirley and Trudy.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Ted) and Georgette (Rick); grandchildren, Amy (Bart), Carrie, Rick Jr (Lauren),

Sarah (Jaret), Kellie (Father: Mark), Josh (Trish), Jason (Siobhan), Matt (Kim); and great-grandchildren, Addison,

Lucy, Jack, Morgan, Ian, Eloise, Boden, Coleman, Jaxon, Ava, Madison, JT, Paul, Ellie, Molly, Luke.

Connie was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the oldest daughter of 4 girls who were raised during the great depression. Her family moved to California when she was young and she would share fond memories of growing up there and being near the beach. She would also talk about how fortunate her family was because her father was a barber and during that difficult time "people still needed to get their hair cut." Connie graduated from Redondo Union High School and went off to design school where she eventually met her husband, Walter. Walter and Connie wed on September 19th, 1950.

Connie and Walter were active members of the Republican Central Committee and Connie worked in the polls for many years. She was a proud and loyal Republican even until her passing. During their leisure time, Walter and Connie organized and attended the Model T Club of America National meet every year in Hershey, PA. They owned Model Ts of their own that their grandchildren would eventually grow up to use as toys in Grandpa Perry's garage. They were avid antique collectors spending countless hours at antique auctions and proudly displayed them throughout their beloved Towerview Road home where the whole family loved to gather.

Connie was a devout Catholic serving forty plus years of service to Catholic charities including the Corner Cupboard where she met many dear friends. Connie was an avid gardener, decorator, skilled seamstress and was especially known for her most up to date style. She loved her family dearly. She spent much time sewing beautiful matching outfits for her family to wear for special occasions, baking, cooking (according to her family she made "the best mashed potatoes in the world") and attending events with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to dance and sing and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were all fortunate to have Nana hold them for hours singing the "Pony Boy" song. She was proud of her family and you would often see her hold up the "okay" sign with her fingers and a wink and tell them they were the "Cats Meow". Connie never met a stranger and she greeted everyone warmly with a smile and her infectious laugh. Even people who met her once would say, "Connie is just the sweetest". She leaves a lifelong impact and legacy behind that will never be forgotten.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our friends and family for your support. Connie requested that all donations go to the National Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.
