Helen GRIFFITH Obituary
Helen Selvage Griffith, 80, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord on January 8, 2021, in Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 19, 1940, in Springfield, the daughter of Richard Thomas and Margaret Lucille (Wilson) Nichols. She was a member of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.
Helen was the Mother of David W. Selvage; Gramma to Taylor, Tylor and Cameron; Mamaw to Shelly and Brent; Mamaw Gamma to Chris and Jacob; Mamaw Helen to Caleb, Gwen and Sophia; sister to Ruth, Daisey,
Donna, Don, Mary and Carla. Also surviving are her Harmony Missionary Baptist Church family and Pastor Clayton Brooks and his wife Pat on Derr Road; the Gary Nichols family from Lucasville, Ohio; her North Pointe friends; her Middle Urbana Missionary Baptist Church friends; special nieces and nephews, Jimmy Hudson, Tina Dixon, Kathy Nicewaner and Jennifer Hall and the mother of her grandchildren, Michelle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Vencil Selvage,
December 7, 1997 and her second husband, Cecil R. Griffith, March 10, 2020; siblings, Rick, John and Gary and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. with Pastor
Clayton Brooks officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services. Masks will be required. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to her church, the Cancer Fund or the Heart Fund. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.

I was honored to be a hospice volunteer to Helen. She was a very sweet lady and we had some very nice talks and visits. She will be missed.
