Ronald SHOPE Obituary

SHOPE, Ronald Emerson

Age 86, of Tipp City, Ohio, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, at Spring Meade Health Center. He was born August 18, 1934, in Pedro, Ohio, to the late Charles and Winifred Shope, one of nine children. Ron was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and was an excellent athlete in his youth. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds & Reynolds after over 30 years. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was very giving and caring and never met a stranger. Ron was always the life of the party, had a jovial personality, and was always joking around. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Buckeyes, Reds and Bengals and enjoyed golfing. Ron was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley; children, Jeff (Christy) Shope, Jill (Keith) Wheless and Jane Shope (Brian Brown); grandchildren, Brittney Shope, Jordan Brown and Cameron Brown;

great-grandchildren, Cole, Carson and Christopher; sister, Annabelle Price; and many nieces and nephews. Ron wished for everyone to remember him as he was in life and did not want a formal funeral service. His family will hold a memorial for him at a later date.
