88, passed away peacefully at her home on February 27, 2021. Preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Sims (Harris). She is survived by her devoted husband, Lavern D. Taylor of more than 65 years, loving children; Michael
(Michelle) Taylor of Dacula, Georgia; daughter, LaVerna
Taylor Cole (Bill) of Dayton, Ohio; son-in-law, Blake Cole,
Atlanta, Georgia; 4 grandchildren, Kalia Cole (Gabriel), Dayton, Ohio, Tiffany Cole (Glenn) Dayton, Ohio, Ashleigh Taylor (Chris), Dacula, Georgia, Austen Taylor, Atlanta, Georgia; 3 siblings, Norrinia Allen, Atlanta, Georgia, Sandra Quartman (Jimmy), Dayton, Ohio, Linda
Carter (Ernest) of Midland, Michigan; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Officiating Rev. Dr. William E. Harris Jr., funeral services will be held Tuesday March 9, 2021, 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. The family will receive friends at 10 am. Due to COVID-19 the family will have a private burial. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mercy Manor Dayton, Battered Women's Shelter Dayton, West Dayton YWCA or National Council of Negro Women Dayton.
