John, I am so sorry for your loss. May you find peace amidst your grief by remembering all the good memories of times spent with your dad. I think of him maybe similar to my dad...Sort of a stern kindliness, delivered sometimes with gruff words but a twinkle in his eye.

Condolences to my Irish dancing friend, Mary, and the Kelly family I remember as children. Mr. Kelly was such a nice man. What a wonderful legacy he lived!

Mr Kelly (as I always called him) was a stern but kind man who always greeted me with gentile respect. A friend of the family since 1979, I would see him in their living room, along with his wife, Mrs Kelly. They were the picture of hospitality and good manners. I remember his kind smile and good advice. I know the family will miss his steadfast leadership and guidance. Rest well Mr Kelly.

My condolences to the family. I've long enjoyed and admired Martin as a fellow lover of history. He was my go-to guy when I was piecing together the history of Emmanuel Church, the neighborhood, and, in particular, its pipe organ. He knew so much! Dayton's understanding of its history owes so much to Martin. I had the pleasure of bumping into Martin at the breakfast club a couple years ago, and enjoying yet another friendly chat. I had a veteran-cousin as my companion, and soon, they were trading their personal stories. A fine way to start the morning. Like so many others, I will miss him.
