I have come to know Kay well over the years. Her son Scott has been married to my daughter Molly for over 10 years now. Kay was a very giving woman and raised two exceptional sons. I am so glad that I got to know her and spend time with her over the last 10 years. One of the best memories I have was going to the Gordon Lightfoot concert with her here in Fort Wayne when Scott bought tickets to take us. She was just thrilled to see him perform. I also met up with her in Memphis one summer when she was there with family to visit Graceland. That was really a highlight for her as she really liked Elvis.
Now that her suffering is over, may she rest in peace, reunited with her mother and father and with her dogs Truman and Shasta. Scott and Doug, know that you are in my thoughts today and always. May your memories of your mother help you get through these difficult days ahead.
