Richard Finfrock Obituary

FINFROCK, Richard L.

"Dick"

79, of New Carlisle, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021. He was born April 21, 1942, in Troy, the son of the late Glen "Bill" and Eda Finfrock. Dick was an entrepreneur at heart, founding and operating several local businesses, including Finfrock Appliance Services for 40 years, Pizza Plus Drive Thru in New Carlisle, and Liberty Nursery and Christmas Tree Farm, to name a few. Dick's

passion was his horses and harness racing. His strong work ethic was a legacy he proudly passed on to his children. Dick was baptized at Asbury United Methodist Church, where he also taught Sunday School and later would attend church services with his family at Home Road Nazarene. He took pride in serving his local community and had served as the Mayor of Lawrenceville. Dick is survived by his daughters Suzette McDougall, April Chandler, Dawn (Daniel) Haack and Amanda Finfrock; life partner Beverly Gladman; brothers John (Dottie) Finfrock and David (Vivian) Finfrock; grandchildren Ashley McDougall, Taylor McDougall, Cooper Haack and Caitlin Haack; beloved dog Gracie; numerous nieces and nephews. He will forever be remembered for his sentimental and loving heart, famous red hat, $2 bills, always helping others, hosting family gatherings, taking Gracie everywhere, and would always say "call me when you get home." The funeral to honor Dick will be held Friday, June 11, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, New Carlisle, OH, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Medway Cemetery. A reception to celebrate his life will begin at 4:00 PM located at The Retreat at Evans Farms, 1892 Liberty Road, New Carlisle, OH. Richard 70th birthday party

The Coyles

June 11, 2021

We were his neighbor, we moved into his old farm house in 2003. He would always stop by just to chat. One year when he had Christmas trees we cut our tree from his farm and he let each of our kids get a little tree of their own. So sorry for your loss. Sending prayers to all.

Richard was my appliance repair guy for 25+ years. He and I would banter back and forth while he fixed whatever thing I had that was on the blink. We would solve all the world's problems in a couple hours over our discussions...and my appliance would be fixed too. He was an honest hardworking guy.........I will miss him!!!

Prayers for the family. Will miss the fun bantering Richard and I had over pricing, never failed, every time he was in! And he would usually wear me down and win!! These last few years I was privileged to get to know the softer side of him. Will miss him (and his red hat!).
