I just heard of Sandy's passing. What a huge loss to your family and the City of Dayton. Sandy always had time to stop and chat when he ran into Skip DT or in Springboro. He always referred to you as "Skip's girlfriend." Sandy's chats were never short. That is part of what made him Sandy. I lost my Skip on August 17, 2020. I visit him frequently at a small cemetary in Montgomery. He loved seeing you both at the annual Christmas Party and especially when they announced his retirement. It was a very proud moment for Skip. I hope you are well and enjoying your family.

Dear Bonnie and family. My condolences to you, Harlan, Heather, and the rest of the family. Sandy and I had had a sincere and close friendship since he was a student at Colonel White High School.
He grew, but never changed. I considered him one of my closest friends in Dayton and looked forward to seeing him. He was a special individual and I will always remember him and your family's support of me and my efforts to serve youth and the community.
Love and respect,
Willis Bing Davis.

I have been business partners with Sandy for 35 years. Actually 35 years this December at Parts Express.
I could not have asked for a better business partner than Sandy. He has always been there when I needed him whether I needed business advice, advise on a deal, or even loading or unloading a truck back in the day... but he has always been "available"
Sandy and I spent a lot of time together over the years especially on buyout deals. When it came to "the-art-of-the-deal" Sandy was one of the smartest people around. Sandy loved making great buyout deals and going to auctions. I always loved how passionate he was and how much fun he had doing them and how much I enjoyed working with him on them.
Now, being in business with Sandy wasn´t always easy. As you can imagine...we didn´t always agree on everything, but I always respected his opinion and he respected mine.
Sandy and I were not only business partners, we were also very good friends. And as many of you can attest, if you were a friend of Sandy Mendelson, you know that you could always depend on him if you needed help. He was a person that a LOT of people depended on over the years and I think he should be proud of the legacy that he is leaving behind.
Sandy was a hard-working, honest, respected, and dependable man, but above all he was loyal to his family and friends and he is going be greatly missed by all of us.
Rest in peace my friend.

I am so very sorry to hear about Sandy. He will truly be missed by Dayton and surrounding cities! I am so glad that I was able to be a small part of Dayton history by working with and for Sandy! I can still see him bopping around on his scooter, up one aisle and down another!

Growing up the the 1980´s in Dayton Sandy Mendelson was a household name. My professional career of banking led me to him and his family. I have had the privilege of meeting the entire family except for his beloved "fifi" which he brought up on more than one occasion : ) . Sandy was blessed with this wonderful family on top of his financial accomplishments. Although an undeniable astute business man Sandy had a huge heart and truly cared not only about his family but the City of Dayton and those closest to him. This showed through all the way to the end when Mendelson´s had to close it doors early this year only because the real estate value had surpassed the value of Sandy´s enterprise due to do how recent times / buying patterns have prevailed. It has been a professional and personal privilege to get to know Sandy and his family. My Father passed earlier this year due to Covid and albeit he was older, in so many ways had the the business acumen that approached that of Sandy´s. Both significant influences in my life. On multiple occasions I was able to spend significant time with Sandy and I feel truly understood him given my background. What an incredible story and a wonderful man and family. Rest In Peace Sandy.......

I will miss hearing Sandy's stories about downtown Dayton when he'd stop by my office to visit me at the 2nd Street Market. He was an essential part of the downtown revitalization. It won't be the same without him as the Market's neighbor. We send our deepest condolences to the Mendelson family. Rest in Peace, Sandy.
Sincerely,
