Sharon Lee (Wesley) DeCaro
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Lee (Wesley) DeCaro, at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, in Middletown, Ohio on March 4, 2026, at the age of 79.
"Sherry" was born in Torrington, CT on October 10, 1946, daughter of the late Charles Bartlett Wesley, Jr. of Port Chester, NY, and the late Eleanor June (Bissell) Wesley of Torrington, CT. Sherry was a 1964 graduate of Torrington High School and went on to work as a computer keypuncher for the Torrington Company until her marriage. In later years, Sherry ran an in-home daycare in Plantsville, CT, where she cared for and loved numerous children as if they were her own. Many still send her Christmas cards.
Sherry's life was forever changed for the better when she met the love of her life, and husband of 58 years, John DeCaro of Southington, CT. They met at McDonald's in Waterbury, CT (she actually fell in love with his GTO first). They married on September 16, 1967, and later welcomed their daughter, Shelly (DeCaro) Nunn (James) of Statesville, NC, and their son, John DeCaro, Jr. of Centerville, OH.
Sherry was always the life of the party, always making everyone laugh without even trying. She loved animals, especially her German Shepherds (she loved Rin-Tin-Tin!), her many cats, and her first childhood dog, Dukie. Sherry also loved antiques and our many adventures looking for treasures!
In addition to her husband and children, Sherry also leaves her six sisters to cherish her memory, Judith Moring (Walter) and Pamela Schenk (Edward) both of Alva, FL, Charlene Belmonte, Jo Palmer, Lorie Rose (Bruce), Claudia Derwitsch (Jakob) all of Torrington, CT. She also leaves her two beloved cats, Fluffy and Baby.
Although the family is heartbroken, thanks to Sherry we have so many happy, laughter-filled memories to cherish. While our world is much quieter, we know our loved ones in Heaven are enthusiastically welcoming her and the laughter she brings!
Services will be held privately by her family at a later date.
