Still to this day I think of Allen often, he was a great friend. You could trust Allen with your money, family or life, there are very very few people you can say that about. Allen, you are remembered by the Bolen family, thanks for the memories.

Allen told me sixty plus years ago on Gettysburg Ave. that I was his first hard contact patient. He always laughed and said, "he could have put bottoms of Coke bottles in my eyes and I would still be happy". We became instant friends, when you meet Allen you have to love him. You can never forget his kindness and laugh. Allen is the type of man you can trust with anything you have. While he was practicing my entire family was fortunate enough to have him as their optometrist and friend. I do not know of a better man. I think of and miss him every day. Jim and Gail Bolen

Al Dubro was such a great man was very sad to hear of this.. I knew Al from time i was a young child. He treated me like family on every occasion i was lucky enough to spend with him. Also its hard to find someone who cared More about his business and helping others or his family. What a great man. May you rest in peace

I was one of Dr. Dubro´s first patients on Gettysburg Avenue in Dayton. I was probably 8 years old and still remember it clearly. I remember how kind he was to me. He was my doctor up until 1986. In fact my whole family went to him. He used to call us "family". I´ll never forget him. He was a special person. I know how much you must miss him. He certainly touched a lot of lives. He touched mine. I´m thinking of you all.

Evan, Your Dad sounds like he was a wonderful person. Of course, that is evident in the person you have become - a true reflection of him - a caring human being. May his memory be a blessing.

I was Dr. Dubro´s patient at the Springboro office for many years. He was always so attentive to treating you and taking time to assure you. We had many good laughs over the years about eyes, kids, and families. My sincere condolences to all who loved Dr. Dubro.

If you are fortunate enough growing up, there is always a friend's parent that will take time out and talk to you about life. Mr. DuBro was that parent. The memories I have of Sheri's dad are all the same: he was a kind and sweet man that was always thoughtful to those around him. It was endearing to see the love he had for Mrs. DuBro and his kids. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family: Jeff and family, Sheri and family and Evan and family. Rest Easy Mr and Mrs DuBro

To the Dubro family,
Your father was my first optometrist and put me in my first pair of hard contacts, which was a very big deal back then. My parents went to him also and we just really thought the world of him. I think of him often as I go by the office in New Carlisle.
My sincere condolences.

I have never forgotten Allen. I remember fondly when he and his father delivered our eggs. They were so friendly and personable. He was my family's optometrist until his retirement. I can remember running into him one day at Burger King. He still remembered me. His family was special.

To the Du Bro family,

I was saddened to learn of Allen's passing from my daughter today. I have known Allen for almost 60 years & had a special bond with Allen & Jeff. Both are 2 of the very sweetest people I have ever known. My family will miss Allen dearly. I am very sad that I have not been able to visit him. Your family are in my thoughts & prayers. I will cherish my memories of him forever.

My family dearly loved Dr. Dubro. From my first meeting when I was 8 at the Gettysburg office which was the beginning of 50 years having him as our optometrist. The four years I lived in Los Angeles, I scheduled my eye appointments during my visits home. When he was out of town and I had to see someone else in Cincinnati, only to discover I had a detached retina, he felt guilty he wasn´t here and kept apologizing. We loved his caring ways and his positivity. Not sure if I can make the graveside service but I will be keeping you all in my prayers. This really hit us hard so I can only imagine the loss you are all feeling.

Much love,
Kimberly Parker Payne and Reva Parker
