Betty SUMEY Obituary
Age 91, of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, at Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant. She was born in Louisville, KY, on July 5, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William R. Coffey in 1972 and Ivan E. Sumey in 2021. Mrs. Sumey worked as a schoolteacher for the Fairfield City School System for 25 years before retiring in 1990.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn (Art) Schutte, Janette (Ric) Mesina, Marilyn Woods; a son, Robert (Deb)
Coffey; stepson, Roger (Pat) Sumey and stepdaughter, Diane (John) Rees; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-
grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, William R. Coffey Jr.; and her two brothers, Jack and Ronald Keeling.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:30 PM on Tuesday, 11/16/21, at the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. in Hamilton. Service will be at 2:30 PM followed by the burial at Rose Hill Burial Park. The online register book is available at
