David Raymond Sumey

David Raymond Sumey - Age 76, of Fenton, passed away September 18, 2025. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday and 12PM until the time of service Thursday. David was born November 30, 1948 in Detroit, the son of the late David Ellsworth and Marguerite Ellen (Callahan) Sumey. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Vietnam War aboard the SS Enterprise. In 2010 David retired from MichCon/DTE after 37 years of service. He was hardworking, very talented and enjoyed the time he spent refurbishing his 100 year old home. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his and Kathleen's children, Julie Anne (James) Smith and Robert Michael (Sheri Schuber) Sumey; grandchildren, Haylie Katherine (Brian) Harrod and David Christopher (Taylor Ann) Sumey; great-grandchildren, Payten, David Jordan and Leo; sister, Mary Catherine (Michael) Rodzewicz; brother, Michael (Noreen) Sumey. David was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (Kenny) Sumey in 2005; son, David Arnold Sumey; brothers, Richard Keith Sumey, John Mark Sumey and Phillip Edward Sumey.
