Lloyd STOOKSBERRY Obituary
Lloyd Gene Stooksberry, 93, of Honor, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021. He was born December 6, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by: his three daughters, Susan Pauly, Nancy (Doug) Peters, and Margaret Stooksberry; sister, Jane Wolfinger; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a niece, Lori; and two nephews, Dave and Rick. He was a proud WWII veteran and a retired school teacher from Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio, and Miami Valley Career Technology Center, where he founded an award winning aircraft maintenance program. He loved flying, hunting, fishing, and in his later years feeding the ducks and geese around where he lived. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Benzie County Animal Control in Beulah, Michigan. The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, is in charge of arrangements.

We never had the honor or pleasure of meeting Lloyd but have heard wonderful things about him from his granddaughter Julie. Her stories and related memories were always of how much he loved his home in Honor and how she treasured the times spent there. We honor his service to his country as a veteran and as a teacher. It was with sadness that we learned of his passing.

Margaret, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I looked him up in my Fairview Yearbook, and he taught there while I was attending. I remember that he was highly respected and appreciated. I hope your memories of him are a comfort to you during your grieving. I just wanted to give my condolences to an outstanding and fondly remembered MHT Sinclair grad. I read some parts of your letter that described being a peer support specialist to my classes (while protecting your identity, of course), so thanks for your input into the curriculum. I wonder how you are now? Maybe in time you will have an opportunity to let me know at [email protected]. Healing thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
