Doug and his family joined our church in Wheaton when I was a young pastor trying to help a small church on the outskirts of town grow into a strong, healthy community of young families and established members. Doug, Kathy and their kids helped to make that happen. He said he joined the church because he drove past one day, close to Christmas, and this enormous evergreen tree was pitifully decorated with about four strands of lights. Doug said he decided, "that poor church really needs help. I better go see what I can do." He was such a wonderful, funny, and dedicated person - a great blessing to me and the church. I was there for his ordination and so blessed to be his pastor, colleague, and friend. We lost touch over the years and I was very sad to hear of his death. I am confident that Doug is in glory, rejoicing with the saints, and I look forward to seeing his smiling face again. My love and warm regards to Kasey, Sally and Tom. Your Dad loved you so much.

I have often thought about Doug and his family. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. He was a huge influence growing up. I remember babysitting his children in Spfld. My deepest and sincere condolences to his family.

I´m just learning of Doug´s transition from this life to the next and to say that I´m heartbroken is an understatement.

Doug and I were in chaplain training together here in Florida. He had the best sense of humor and we laughed together often. He and my husband often laughed together as well. My husband passed in July of last year and now I think of he and Doug sitting somewhere in a corner making some mischief!

May God bless Doug´s family and friends with everything that they need.

Doug, I love you my friend,
The Rev.

Doug, I have so many memories of us laughing, crying or just sitting side by side not saying a word. We would come in and out of each other's lives but we always knew one of us would answer the phone just to say how are you!
Think of you today and every day!
Love you Dougy,
Jan

Chaplain Doug provided spiritual guidance for our family when my daughter Jenna passed 3 years ago and recently for my daughter Sara in October. He had a way of providing strength through humor making a difficult situation brighter. Taking a moment to celebrate Doug´s life and all he did for many other families. He will be missed
