I just found out about Gunars' passing. He was a great person to work with and working on his book taught me a lot about Latvian history and culture. I'm deeply saddened by this loss. Even though I never had the chance to meet him in person, he will be missed.

Didn't know you during my time repping a precious metals and metallurgical engineering production company at WPAFB, but sure would have liked the opportunity to have done so. Wheels up to AFRL and ASC.

So sorry to hear of Gunars death. My heart felt sympathy to Maija and the rest of the family. I have enjoyed reading his contributions to "Laiks" as well as the rough draft of his memoir years ago.
