Ronald WRIGHT Obituary
With sadness, we announce that Ron "Ronnie" passed away after a period of declining health. He was born on February 7, 1951, in Trotwood, OH, to the late Robert Wright Sr. and Mary Jane (Kastner). He was predeceased by his brother, Tom (Rhonda). Ron is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his stepdaughter Rema Shalan (Noor Jaber), his grandchildren Zara and Amir Jaber, and siblings Rob (Kathleen), Patti (Ron) Alf, and James (Amy).
Ron was twice retired from Verizon Communications, giving them 42 years of service. He was a member of the Trotwood-Madison Historical Society, Miami Valley Antique Fire Apparatus Association, Miles Greenwood Historical Fire Apparatus Society, and several Railroad organizations. Ron served in the Army and continued serving his community long afterward. He donated over ten gallons of blood to the Red Cross, rescued and spayed/neutered dozens of cats, and restored antique boxcars that can be seen at the Trotwood-Madison Train Depot. Ron was always willing to lend a hand. He used his considerable talents with plumbing, electrical, auto mechanics, and construction to help his family, friends, and neighbors throughout the years.
Services will be held on 22 April, 2022, at Precious Blood Church, Dayton, at 10:30 a.m. with viewing on 21 April, 2022, at Baker-Hazel-Snider Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to organizations close to Ron's heart: Dayton Humane Society, Miles Greenwood Historical Fire Apparatus Society, or the Trotwood-Madison Historical Society. Ron was a wonderful neighbor and was a pleasant sight to see sitting outside on his steps. I will miss him and his intelligent conversations. My regrets to his family..
