Your smile and genuine kindness will never be forgotten. Your laugh was infectious.
We had a kinship in that we were both sensitive and kind people. You were always kind to me and I’ll never forget the times we shared together. I remember seeing you at Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton around 1985 and you picked me up and hugged me like a lost teddy bear. (I was a little embarrased, as I had never been scooped up and hugged as an adult man.) Haha
I also remember never to play you at tennis after that first time at the pool. You were a killer on the court. But humble, nonetheless. You told me I needed to work on my serve. That was an understatement.
I will miss you until I see you again.
Godspeed my friend.

Kerin, I just learned of the passing of your brother Eugene. I never knew him but I do remember you talking about your little brother the tennis player and just how good he was! So tough to lose a sibling. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My name is David Green. I played Gene in tennis in the juniors. We had an epic match at the tennis barn in Kettering in 1974 in the finals. He was always great to play against. Prayers to his family

He was hands down my best friend in childhood. The memories I have of him during those years are absolutely countless and wonderful - the games, stories, sledding, skating, swimming, UD basketball games, cartoon watching, tree climbing, wave riding, firefly catching, church going, riding our bikes to school, etc. I had brought up some of these memories with him in recent years and he always said "I remember them too. We had a great time." I hope and pray he is at peace now.

I remember sharing a dance with my Uncle Gene at my sister´s wedding. He seemed so happy to be around so many loved ones and friends, and genuinely happy for my sister. I just remember so vividly his happy energy that day. I am so grateful for the memory of his smile. May he Rest In Peace.

Offering my sympathy for Gene's loss. Although I didn't know him well; I did talk with him several times after his Mom passed and he certainly was a loving and dedicated son to Marylou. May he rest in peace with his Mom.

We took you to a tourney in Louisiana one year. It was 100 degrees in the shade under the umbrellas for us spectators. You quipped " it won't take long " and you won 6-0 / 6-0 and we were in the a/c having lunch promptly. I am blessed to have had my life touched by you and will miss our superbowl talks. Put in a word for Kansas City for me.

He was a gifted athlete. I remember roller skating with him at a roller rink in Narragansett, RI when he was a teenager. I was struggling to keep my feet under me. Gene was gracefully skating circles around me and the whole rink. I asked him when he learned to roller skate, he replied "This is the first time I ever roller skated." Love you and miss you brother.
