I first met June in March 1978. I was working at NCR, and I had recently been transferred to the USA from Australia. June and her husband Mario were extremely welcoming to me and to my young family. and helped us with the transition to living in Ohio. June hosted small parties in her home, and invited us to various cultural events. June was an extremely gracious, well educated and articulate person. I always learned something new whenever I spoke with her.
I moved away from Ohio, and stayed in touch. June wrote wonderful letters that she included in her Christmas cards. When I visited Ohio I sometimes saw June. She did not like to go out due to problems with her feet, so she would invite me to coffee in her home. June had a mini-museum of NCR artifacts, and it was lovely to listen to her memories.
June was part of the fabric of what was wonderful about Ohio living, and I will never forget her.
Rest In Peace June DeBernardi.

I just called June to wish here happynew year, but ended up finding her obituary online. Nobody had told me that she had passed, and I'm sad to hear this news. We met on a trip to China mire than 40 years, and kept in touch ever since. In recent years, she sent me recommendations for travel videos and books that she enjoyed. She was a real world traveler, and had so much enthusiasm for learning through her reading and travels. I will miss her.

I am an old neighbor of June and just learned of her passing. Having spent hours listening to her talk about life and the world around us, I could not agree more with the tribute written here. She´s met all my kids, encouraged them and helped them grow. June was a super human and I will miss here. Tom
