Joel BURTON Obituary

BURTON,

Pastor Joel Adam

Pastor Joel Adam was born in Dayton, Ohio, September 20, 1979, and transitioned into the presence of God July 31, 2022. He loved everyone and didn't know a stranger, all are children of God. Everywhere he went, he paused and prayed for people who were struggling and spoke encouraging words to them. When he realized that some people would never set foot in a church, he took the church to them. His ministry was blessed with a giant tent and people came to faith who would never, ever step foot in a church. If there was ever a man who left a mark of love on the city of Dayton, it was Joel Burton.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shawnda Burton; daughters Trinity Burton of Dayton, Ohio, Jenna Vance of Dayton, Ohio; sons Chay Parker of Dayton, Ohio, and Bailey Burton of Fairborn, Ohio; mother Patricia Burton of Dayton, and father Randal Burton of KY; grandmothers Peggy Brown of Englewood, and Hattie Burton of Miamisburg; brothers Jake and (Jessie) Burton of Clayton, Josh and (Kristin) of Tipp City; sister Jennifer (Jeremy) Brunn of Fairborn; and numerous family and friends.

Celebration of life will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Redemption Christian Tabernacle (11780 North Dixie Drive, Tipp City, OH 45371). Visitation from 10:00am-2:00pm, and service at 2:00pm. Interment at Dayton Memorial Park.

Please know that the works that your loved one shared and performed in the earth have an effect even on those whom he never met like myself. The witnesses that speak of his obedience to and impact in the kingdom clearly speak for him. May your days ahead be comforted by the awesome man of God you had the pleasure of sharing life with. Our God shall continue to supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory. God bless you now and always, a sister in Christ.

Our condolences and prayers for the Burton family today. Always enjoyed the church services where Joel attended. He always had a testimony of his faith and his witnessing to others was both memorable and courageous. Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. God bless this family for their encouragement of faith and salvation.

I will never forget Pastor Joel. I met him one random Saturday and he took time out of his very busy day to pray for me!
I learned from this one act of kindness that we are never too busy if another is in need. I am paying this forward to the best of my ability and will continue to do so,

His work here is done and now he may rest in peace with Our Lord with the knowledge that his work continues through all the people whose lives he touched!

I will never forget Pastor Joel. I met him one random Saturday. He didn´t know me at all but took time from his very busy day to pray for me. I will never forget it. He taught me with that one act of kindness that we are never too busy when another is in need! I am paying
that lesson forward as much as I can and will continue to do so. His work here is done and now he may Rest In Peace with Our Lord with the knowledge that his work continues in all the people whose lives were touched by him.

Sometimes in life certain events just leave us numb, speechless: our minds began to wander, and wonder. But shall the hand say unto the Potter why did you make me? Pastor Joel was very dear to my heart. He was my brother. I'm in my mourning process even now. But let there be no misunderstanding! We don't weep as the world weep as if there's no hope; for we have a blessesed assurance: a sure hope that his name is Written in the Lambs Book of Life. And one day the dead in Christ shall arise first; and those of us who are still alive and remain, will be caught up together to meet our loved ones in the sky; and we shall forever be with them, and see Jesus just as He is. Now I pray that the Holy Spirit will do just what Jesus sent Him to do; and that's to Comfort our hearts in this moment.

I loved participating in the food pantry with Pastor Joel. He would always take the time to pray for those who asked for a prayer. You will be greatly missed.

We are still in disbelieve of your passing. So many wonderful memories our families have shared. When you first began your calling into the ministry, you would come minister at our church. We watched you grow so fast in the Lord. You had so many questions you were hungry and so eager to learn all you could as fast as you could. We watched our children grow up together. We shared tremendous heartbreak as we lost Ruthie Aunt Barb and my momma. My mom loved to talk about the Lord with you on your many rides to church together. She would brag how knowledgable you had become in the Lord in such a short time. We may not understand the reason for your sudden call home but apparently God had something for you to do to prepare for his return. Our hearts are so broken and we are going to miss you. Hugs and prayers to Shawnda, Jenna, Chay, Bailey and Trinity....

I am so sorry for your great loss. God has gained a great man into his kingdom. We are praying for your family. I know there are no words that ease your pain. Only time and God can give you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you and your family are in our prayers. Pastor Joel was a very well loved man of God. He was the real deal. May God bless you and keep you as you go through this difficult time.
