I only met Steve a few times, but he has been a dear friend of my sister MaryEllens for many years. Over the years I heard so many wonderful things about Steve from her. Know that I am sending love and healing to Steve's family and friends in this difficult time.

Anyone who had the blessing to know Steve is better off because of it. He embodied such a generous spirit and sharing his daily photos, music and humor every morning brought such joy into so many hearts. Gone far too soon, I will miss him dearly everyday. My deepest condolences to his family.

Karen, Sarah, and Jack,
Steve was one of the "good guys". Not only was he a good guy, but a very talented one. And, a joy to work with. He was always reaching for the stars. We are So very sorry we will not be able to attend his Mass, and celebration of life. We will be out of the country. We will always remember Steve fondly. Hopefully your good memories will keep him close. Ellen and John

Sarah and Jack,
I´m so deeply sorry for this enormous loss.
Anyone who knew Steve, knew how much he loved you and how very proud you made him.
And I´m so saddened for all of us whose lives he helped color and so suddenly left.
It´s often said that a person´s passing leaves the world a little less bright, but in the case of your dad, our world truly is far less brilliantly vivid. He was a whirlwind of creative energy whose enthusiasm for the visual world around him was contagious.
Even though none of us saw him in person as much as we would have liked, he was a daily part of our lives though his art. A morning ritual was to see what exquisite "snaps" boxcar9 had posted that morning. Conversely, my posts weren´t complete until they had boxcar9´s stamp of creative approval!
I often wondered why he continued to work so hard, so intensely at our age. I don´t think he could help himself. There was so much creative energy fueling his soul, it had to be released.
I´m so grateful to have been in a very tiny way, part of his orbit and inspired by his light.
Rest in blissful peace, SLB.

I've never met a kinder and gentler man. Steve was a breath of creativity, beauty, intelligence, loyalty, insight, calm as well as an empathetic, sensitive friend. He helped me get through my 18 month battle with Covid and in that solidified my friendship for an eternity.

I am forever grateful for the love and care he consistently bestowed and for the laughter and deep conversation we shared.

I send my heartfelt condolences to the loves of his life, Sarah & Jack. You brought him infinite joy and incredible meaning to his life and purpose.

May he Rest In Peace and may his memory forever be a blessing to the many he touched.

I am very saddened to hear of Steve's passing. As a fellow photographer, his work was a continual inspiration to me. His encouraging and supportive words were a reflection of the kind hearted person he was. Steve had an incredible eye for composition and it showed in his extraordinary photography. He will be truly missed.
