Dorothy BURT Obituary

BURT, Dorothy E.

95 of Springfield, passed away August 23, 2022, in the Forest Glen Health Campus. She was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts, on September 28, 1926, the daughter of Charles Fusto and Grace May (Gorman) Knight. Dorothy was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God. She was a proud homemaker, who loved being with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She always enjoyed traveling to Amish country and to Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John E. Burt, Sr, whom she married November 14, 1945; son John E. (Jack) Burt, Jr.; daughter Grace Awilda Burt; grandson Christopher A. Burt; brothers Gordon W. and Harold M. Knight; and sister Ruth M. Burt. Survivors include her daughter Patricia A. (Steve) Hazlett; son Harold S. Burt; grandson Daniel A. Detrick; granddaughter Christina N. (Richy) Dillavou; great-granddaughters Genevieve D. Thompson, Willow G. Thompson; great-grandsons Ryan A. Detrick and Jordyn I. Dillavou. Services to honor Dorothy will be Monday, August 29, 2022, at 3:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Rev. Charles Stansberry officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 2:00PM. Burial to follow in Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to EDUCARE Maiden Lane Church of God 1201 Maiden Lane Springfield, Ohio 45504.
