Jeffrey DOOLEY Obituary

DOOLEY, Jeffrey Owen "Jeff"

70, of South Charleston, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was born on October 12, 1952, in Springfield, the son of the late Hansford and Viola (Davis) Dooley. Jeff started working at Navistar in the early 1970's and left the plant soon after to start his own company, Dooley Service Pro in 1973. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jeff was a man with great integrity who cared deeply for his family, friends, employees, and customers. He made every attempt to see the best in people; especially those who were struggling. He was a longtime member of Fellowship Christian Church where he was known for his gentle and humble faith in his Savior Jesus Christ and was always interested in telling others about the difference Jesus made in his life. Jeff was blessed abundantly by the prayers and support of his church small group led by Brenda Cook. In his later years, he loved to work in his garden, plant trees, and spend time with his family on his farm that he loved to call "Simple Ridge." Jeff is survived by his wife Teresa of 50 years, children: Jason (Heather) Dooley, Caleb (Britney) Dooley, and Jenna (Ben) Oler; siblings: Paul Rodney Dooley, Donnie Ray (Flor) Dooley, Jerry Link Dooley, and Mary Pamela (Julie) Dooley; seven grandchildren: Zach, Noah, Liam, Madelyn, Kenzie, Maddie, Levi; and numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 29th from 2:00 – 5:00 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home with livestreaming available through Littleton & Rue's Facebook page. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. To the Dooley family, lm sending you my love and deepest sympathy for your loss. I wish l could be there to help celebrate the life of a man so admired. Jeff knew my father and other family members through his work and from our families being related. I loved his strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and his courageous strength to get well. They both meant the world to me and l truly loved their visits with me in the mountains. Rest In Peace my friend and know your precious wife will be looked after and loved by her family and friends. Teresa, lm here for you day or night. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you with strength and peace in the days ahead. Susie

Teresa and Family. John ,Michael and I are so saddened by the loss of your husband and our beloved friend Jeff! I still remember you sitting in our family room telling us he was sick. The talks we'd have on the phone with him he was always about us. He never complained ,even though he went through so much. He is such an example to me and my family of what it is to be a true Christian and how to live your life! Suffering shows your true character. He always had a smile on his face and such a calming and gentle spirit. I don't think I've known somebody with so much integrity. Going through the trial he did of sickness , and the way he carried himself with such grace and dignity, he is a true man of God. I cherish times we talked to you guys on the phone during those years after and when we got to see you at your house. When I think of one of my heroes it is Jeff. He was honest ,kind, authentic and selfless. Even as he suffered at the end he was always asking my husband about himself. We would get off the phone and just be so blessed by him. We feel for you and your whole family. There are no words to say but we are so so sorry and greatly miss him already !! But I know hes in glory With our Lord Jesus Christ. I think of the scripture " I have fought the fight , I have kept the faith , I have finished the race " Well done Jeffrey Dooley !!!! Sending big hugs from the Essig family to the Dooley family !!!! I still can't believe he's gone and we will not be able to talk to him on our seems like weekly Sunday night talks.
