I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with and for Chief Pfledderer. He was a man I truly admired. He was a gentlemen's gentlemen. He and his lovely Shirley were always kind and thoughtful not only to me but to my family. Vern you will be missed. To the Pfledderer family please accept my deepest sympathies. Phil Rench

Vern was one of the kindest gentlemen I have had the pleasure to know. His visits brightened my mom's last days at Danbury. Mike and i send our sincere sympathy to family and friends who will miss him. God bless his soul.
