Barnell Hampton, age 92, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Funeral service 11 am Friday, July 14, 2023, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Visitation 10 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home

My father Jimmie Wilder Jr. and Mr Hampton were childhood friends in Columbus Ohio. They attended schools together including high school at Columbus East HS. Even though they had not seen one another in about 50 years they met up in Dayton when my dad retired from the military. He always talked excitingly about meeting up with his old friend "Hamp" as he called Mr Hampton. To his family and friends I send my sincere sympathy on this occasion. Be blessed and know our father has him and my dad at rest. They will see each other again. Be thankful always that they were friends and both trusted in Jesus. I hope I can be just like both of them. Thank you God for Mr Hamptons life.
