George was my advisor at Wittenberg (class of 1990) and he single handedly set my life´s trajectory in order when he sent me to the School of Visual Arts for a semester in 1989. I just learned that George passed away last August. I have made a lifetime in New York City, as an artist and designer, not to mention wife and mother of three super cool and creative city kids, and not a day goes by that I don´t think of him. We used to trade little messages on Instagram and I hadn´t heard from him in awhile. He was so special to me, and to many others.

To Dr. Ramsay's family: Your father (and grandfather) was a smart, chill, talented and inspiring professor who quietly gave me confidence to develop design/art/photography skills that have given me so much joy and fulfillment over the past 35 years. i respected his critiques and loved his kind words. Thoughtful, encouraging and a joy to be around. I'm glad you had him for so long, and I am sending love and support to you all in this terribly tough time.

I graduated in 1990 from Wittenberg, and probably my favorite class in four years was Art Fundamentals with Dr. Ramsay. Sending colorful thoughts of peace to his family.

My favorite course in college was the art class I took just for fun as a senior, with Dr. Ramsey, who was such a creative person and a gifted teacher.

George taught me how to sail on Lake Michigan and it developed a love of sailing that has lasted a lifetime. Thanks George for that gift, we will miss you.
