Shirley and I go back all the way to elementary school through high School. She was one of my best friends growing up in the same neighborhood. I'm going to miss her dearly because there aren't very many of us left from the same neighborhood. RIP Shirley. Till we meet on the other side. Love you longtime.

Shirley and I became friends in the youth group at Fairfield Wesleyan Church. This friendship has lasted over 50 years. She was kind, considerate and always there when you needed her. She will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family. With Love, Kathy Webb

What a wonderful person Shirley was. When the Gabbards moved into our neighborhood during Jr. high, I remember how excited we boys were over the stunning blonde oldest child. However, despite her considerable feminine charms, it became clear that she could whip nearly every boy in Lindenwald, so we kept a respectful distance.
As part of the youth group at Fairfield Wesleyan Church she was a leader and kept the rest of us on track.
When Shirley offered to help it was no empty courtesy. She rolled up her sleeves and did all the heavy lifting without complaint. When my wife and I were moving to South Carolina, I was at my new job and Shirley helped Kathy load and carry countless boxes of books from our basement. I think the movers were ready to hire her as a foreman.
Over the years we had many spirited discussions on politics but they were always sincere and good humored.
She was a big part of our lives and Kathy and I shall miss her terribly.
Condolences to all her family, whom she cherished. Rest In Peace sweet lady.
