Gene was a wonderful person, amongst the kindest and most generous I´ve ever met. His love for wildlife and animals was legendary. I have so many fond memories of Gene, but perhaps those that come to the fore are those with Gene with a "furry friend" at Tripod camera club. I´ve lost count how many times I glanced across the audience to spy some small rescued creature peeking out from his sweater. I´ll miss you, Gene.

Gene was always a pleasure to spend time with. He loved challenging his mind. He had a keen sense of curiosity and interest in learning new things. Gene also had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh at a good joke. I will miss my time with him but I'm thankful for the good memories I have of those times.

Wow, I just saw this sad news of Gene's passing. I regret not having a chance to have another conversation with him, but I will remember Gene fondly and appreciate his kind and generous nature and love of many things, especially the art and craft of photography and the unusual animal companions he cared for. I wish those who knew Gene peace and many happy memories as they grieve the loss of a genuinely good man.
