In memory of Amos Tarter. Simply put, Amos was a Godly person. His faith in Jesus Christ was most important to him. Yes, he cared about others as evidenced by things he did. Whether family or strangers, he helped others whenever he could. Though there is sadness in his passing, there is comfort in knowing where Amos is now. In the Bible, book of Daniel, God told Daniel to go thy way till the end, be at rest, and in the last days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance. For Amos, he too is at rest, spiritual rest, and will rise in the last days to receive his allotted inheritance in God´s dwelling place called heaven. The Bible says "make your calling and election sure". As evidenced by his sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to many people, there was no doubt of Amos´s salvation through Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us only those names found written in the Book of Life will enter into heaven. Without question, one of those names in the Lamb´s Book of Life is "Amos Lee Tarter". As one of God´s children, Amos is an heir of God, a co-heir with Christ, appointed to receive his allotted inheritance in heaven, where he will spend eternity. At a personal level, Amos loved so much his daughter, Pam. Days before his passing, he said to her "I don´t know what I would have done without you Pam". Those heartfelt words he spoke to his daughter were so genuine and sincere. May the peace from God be with those who knew Amos. As we remember Amos, we pray thanks to you God the Father, for your peace that transcends all understanding, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Doug Covey (son-in-law)
