I met Bob in 1986 through contra dancing in Cincinnati. I love hammered dulcimer music and hoped to learn to play. When Bob got his own professionally crafted hammered dulcimer, I got his home made one. I still have it...and its presence in my house made me curious about Bob and led to this note to say his generosity of experiences and the dulcimer are appreciated. My condolences to his family and friends.

I met Bob in 2017 or 2018, at Red Stewart Airfield in Waynesville, OH, where he was President of EAA Chapter 284. He always had so much information to share about so many things! If not for his tenacity, the chapter probably would have folded years ago. He convinced me and my husband to be chapter officers- and we still are! We are trying to keep spirit of aviation alive with the chapter and are thankful for all his years of dedication and hard work. Bob's passing has left a definite void- but he would not want that to be a reason to quit or give up!

Bob definitely did March to the beat of his own drum, but he volunteered his time an energies to helping other people and doing good for others. As a member of Mensa, I will miss him and all the things he did for us. Whenever I asked anything of him, he did it with aplomb. Thank you Bob!

I knew Bob many years. I met him when I worked in the prison where he worked. I am a pilot and Bob loved talking about flying and planes. He was one of my best men at my wedding (Bob wearing a yarmulke was a sight to behold) and he celebrated many thanksgivings and Passover Seders at my house. For 20 years I volunteered at Bob´s house of pancakes, the pancake breakfast that his EAA chapter runs each year at the Waynesville airport Labor Day fly in. Bob wasn´t always the easiest person to get along with, and we had cross words near the end, which I now deeply regret. Rest in peace, old friend. I´ll see you at the house of pancakes in the sky.

I knew Bob through the Dayton chapter of the high IQ society Mensa. He added a lot to Mensa.

Bob was a staple in the Dayton Area Mensa community. He distributed the electronic version of our newsletter, and was involved in the blood drove for our chapter.
"Santa Bob" rarely missed a Mensa party; attending the annual picnic regularly, the election gatherings, and many other events.
He will be missed.
