I first met Marty at the Hapeville Presbyterian Church when we were both about 5 years old. I later got reacquainted with him when he played in Carrie Nation with another friend, Hugh. He was an exceptional man and told some great stories about his music career.

I met Marty around 1967, he was playing in a band with my brother, so I had a front row seat and watch him and learn from him. We later played together in the Carrie Nation band which was an unforgettable trip. There was only one Marty and he will be missed sorely. When you look up at the sky, just know he's looking back at you. God Bless you Brother.
