Doug was a special person, a joy to be around and a pretty funny guy. I teach fly fishing and had the pleasure of seeing him enroll in no less than 18 of my fly tying and fly fishing programs over the last couple years. I am also a member of the local fly fishing club and got to know him on a more personal level as well. He was a very generous man. I know he is walking in the presence of God the Father, visiting with so many friends, family and saints of old. But one thing we talked about was seeing Jesus face to face. He knew his eternal security was locked in and he was heaven bound! "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." I miss my buddy, but look forward to seeing him again in a glorified, pain-free, cancer-free body. And I look forward to fly fishing with him there, too. I mean God wouldn't create such a fine thing as that and not have it for us to enjoy for eternity, right? And no wind knots! Love ya, Doug. See you soon. And my love to his mother - it was such a blessing to see him bring his mother to the Mother and Son Fishing Day. God bless all the family.
