John Maynard Obituary

Maynard, Jr., John Boyd

Born on June 13, 1958, and an avid truck driver and dedicated family man, passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2024. John spent his life on the open road, hauling automotive parts across the country. He took immense pride in driving for his family's torque converter companies, where he became a cornerstone of the business and the heart of his family's operations. Known for his unwavering work ethic and love for the trucking life, John was not just a driver but a symbol of perseverance and dedication. He was respected by his colleagues and loved by his family, who knew him as a man of integrity, kindness, and unyielding loyalty. John is survived by his father, John B. Maynard Sr.; his beloved wife, Gail; his life partner, Kelly McClain; his two daughters, Jennifer Nichols and her husband Anthony Samaan, and Carol Fairchild; his sisters, Marcia Prugh and her husband Tim, and Julie Turner and her husband Michael; his cherished grandson, Dustin Voss; and his granddaughter, Callie Fairchild, nephew Hunter Turner and niece Brittany Carpenter, and great nephew Brayden. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Westbrook Funeral Home, located at 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering, OH 45440. A private burial service for the family will take place at Woodland Cemetery Chapel. John's family will always cherish the memories of his stories from the road, his wisdom, and his enduring sense of humor. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's name to Saint Francis of Assisi in Centerville, Ohio.

It´s been many years since I had seen John. A couple early reunions. My greatest memories with John at least on the high school level was in gym class playing team handball . I was the goalie and John a defenseman .. we were proud that we never allowed a goal I. Two years of gym class. We were very proud of that and still talked about that years later . So sorry to lose him

John and I were great friends in school. After graduating, we both went our separate ways and never stayed in touch. At one of our class reunions we had the pleasure of meeting and talking. He was still the same John I knew back in school.

I am deeply saddened hearing he has passed on. My condolences and prayers go out to all of his family. Though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.
