Cain, Carol L.

Carol L. Cain, age 75 of Wayne Twp., passed away at home on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Carol was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 22, 1949 to the late Charles and Irma (Holzer) Schaefer. Carol graduated from Seven Mile High School, Class of 1967 and attended Miami University. She worked for the Ohio Bus Lines, Wayne Elementary School, and later was an office manager at Shape Supply Inc., retiring after 34 years. Carol was a member of 4-H, volunteered with the Girl Scouts, St. Peter Agape Free Store, and other community organizations. She was an active, life-long participant in the Butler County Fair, proudly serving as co-superintendent of the Arts & Crafts Department. Carol was proud to show the Schaefer Family Hampshire sheep for many years. She was a member of the Seven Mile Alumni Association. Carol was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crafting. Carol had a love for baking, especially Christmas cookies. She also enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her flower garden. Carol is survived by her husband, Kenzie Cain; her children, Darren Hoelle and Carla (Jason) Hale; her grandchildren, Tyler Hon and Alex Hoelle; her brother, William (Jean) Schaefer; her special nieces, Sue (Jeff) Goodpaster and Nancy (Mark) Thomas; her great nephew, Guy (Samantha) Goodpaster and their son, Stetson; and her great niece, Lauren Thomas; as well as many extended family members and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda (Brower) Egelston. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 11:30 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 12:30 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 311 N. Miami St., Trenton, Ohio. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Memorial Donations in Carol's honor may be gifted to the Butler County Agricultural Society, 1715 Fairgrove Ave., Hamilton OH 45011 or the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45206.
