Terry Cox Obituary

Cox (Tiller), Terry Ann "Jo"

Terry "Jo" Ann Cox (Tiller), a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 6, 2024. She was a cherished member of her family and a dedicated professional who spent her long career as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Terry's commitment to caring for others was evident not only in her work but also in her personal life.

Born and raised with strong Baptist values, she had a deep faith in the Lord and believed in the power of prayer. Terry graduated from Stivers High School before continuing her education at Kettering College of Medical Arts. Her journey as a nurse showcased her compassion and dedication to the wellbeing of the smallest and most vulnerable patients, making a profound impact on countless families.

Terry was a loving wife to Daniel Cox Jr. She is survived by her son, Aaron Cox, and his wife Natalie; her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Cox; her grandchildren, Sophia Cox, Cassidy Cox, Gabriel Vermilion, and Ximena Vermilion; and her mother, Betty Jean Tiller. She also leaves behind her sister Cathy Kayser with her husband Scott, brother William Tiller and his wife Kathy, brothers in law, Mark Cox and Donald Cox with his wife Rebecca. Her family will remember her not just as a caregiver by profession but as a loving matriarch whose presence brought warmth and comfort to their lives.

In her early years, Terry enjoyed sewing, a hobby that reflected her creative spirit. She was known for her ability to create beautiful items with her hands, often inspiring those around her with her craftsmanship.

Terry was preceded in death by her father, Charles Tiller, and her son, Zachary Cox, both of whom she will forever hold dear in her heart.

A visitation will be held on December 14, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio. The family invites all who knew and loved Terry to join them in celebrating her remarkable life and legacy.

I was very sorry to hear that Terry had passed. She was a really kind, caring and nice person. I knew her sister Cathy at both Huffman grade school and at Stivers High School and loved the entire family. At one time they were even our neighbors and they were all so very nice to us. Your family is in our prayers. In Christ, Ron Jones
