Robert Stebbins Obituary

Stebbins, Robert Eugene

Robert Eugene "Bob" Stebbins, aged 87, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Brookhaven Retirement Community. He was born on October 13, 1937, in Jefferson Township, OH. Bob was the son of the late Cecil and Mildred (Schenck) Stebbins. He enjoyed more than 65 years with his wife and sons in the home he built with family and friends in the summer of 1959. Bob was part of the second generation of ownership at Stebbins Plumbing, a business he helped grow with his brothers for over 40 years. Throughout his career, he earned a reputation for his plumbing and boiler expertise, along with a strong work ethic instilled by his parents, who founded the business in 1926. His skills and integrity made him a respected figure in the Greater Miami Valley community. Outside of work, Bob had many interests that brought him joy. He was a passionate woodworker, relishing the craft of building furniture and creating beautiful, handcrafted items for his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether camping with friends or simply relaxing on his porch with a good book. Bob was a devoted family man who always prioritized his loved ones. Above all, Bob found his greatest joy in being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He treasured the moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always seeking ways to be involved in their lives, whether it was attending their sports events or playfully sneaking olives from the relish tray before they could. He took pride in being a grandfather and aimed to create lasting memories with each of them. His wisdom and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his loving children, Bruce (Kelli) Stebbins and Dale (Jennifer) Stebbins; his cherished grandchildren, Kaley (Chris) Jones, Taylor (Macky) Stebbins, Madison Stebbins, Melissa (Joe) Stebbins, Tim Stebbins, and Laura Stebbins; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Maci and Kynli Jones. He is also survived by his brother, Joe (Deana) Stebbins, his sister, Arlene Saul, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Eleanor Stebbins; his brother, Don (Pauline) Stebbins; his sister Janice Denlinger; and his brother-in-law Ed Saul. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home in Miamisburg. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM at Hillgrove Cemetery in Miamisburg, where Bob will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Eleanor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Affinity Hospice Care www.tinyurl.com/DonateRES2024, an organization that provided compassionate care during his final days.
