Anna Cottongim Obituary

Cottongim (Degroat), Anna L.

Cottongim, Anna L. (DeGroat) age 91, passed away December 24, 2024 in Miamisburg, OH. She was born to the late Irvin and Hester (Whitehead) DeGroat in German Twp. OH. Anna helped on the family farm, and graduated from Germantown High School, in 1952. She married Gerald Cottongim in 1954 and they were married 53 years until he passed in 2007. Anna retired from First National Bank of Germantown, was a lifetime member of Union Chapel in Middletown, and was known to be a prayer warrior for her family, friends and anyone she met. Her interests were reading, crocheting and her family. Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her beloved sister Mildred (Don) Denlinger. Anna is survived by 2 children Cynthia (Chris) Tietge and Kendall (Kelly) Cottongim; 4 grandchildren David, Megan, Ryan and Rachel; 3 great grandchildren Elliana, Blake and Ethan; sisters Miriam Johnson and Janet (Mark) Shaw.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 4-6 PM at the Arpp, Root and Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:00am at Union Chapel Church, 8284 Keister Rd. Middletown, with burial immediately following at Highland Cemetery in Miamisburg.
