Curtis McGuigan Obituary
Curtis R McGuigan, age 86, passed away suddenly on January 28, 2025, at Kettering Medical Center. Curt was born on March 23, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio to Kathryn (Shaffner) McGuigan and Clarkson McGuigan. He was a 1956 graduate of Fairview High School and served in the Ohio National Guard. He began his career at NCR in Dayton and continued as an independent salesman specializing in Material Handling and never stopped working. Curt was a loving family man and took great pride in his children and grandchildren and would tell everyone about their accomplishments. He loved time with them especially family vacations and holidays. He enjoyed working on cars, fly fishing with his brother in Colorado and golf at Community Golf Course, morning lattes and he never missed a Friday night with his buddies and Monday dinner with friends. Curt is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lesley (Smith); daughters, Heather (Craig) Shamp and Kathryn Rice; grandchildren, Amanda (Spencer) Chaloux, Ashley Shamp, Hailey (Tanner) Kramer, Caleb Rice and Carter Rice; nieces, Gayle Robers and Nicole Russ; and nephew, Kenneth (Arlene) McGuigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clarkson McGuigan Jr. and sister, Arleen McGuigan. Curt never knew a stranger. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed. Please join us for a Celebration of Life from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Walnut Grove Country Club. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or to Tenth Life Cat Rescue. Arrangements are entrusted to GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg.
