Kermit D. (Danny) Toms Jr. 82, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 6th, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 21, 1943, Danny dedicated his life to his passion for cars, working as a master auto body technician from the age of 16 until 80. His exceptional craftsmanship was evident in the many show cars he built and restored over the years. He took great pride in his work, turning metal and paint into works of art that reflected his dedication and skill.

Beyond his career, he found joy in racing, sharing that passion with his son and many close friends. His love for the sport and the camaraderie it brought was a defining part of his life. He was also a 32nd Degree Master Mason of the Scottish Rite of the Minerva Lodge #98 Miamisburg Masonic Temple and the Antioch Bobbies, where he formed lifelong friendships and contributed to his community. Above all, Danny cherished his family. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara, for nearly 60 years, building a life together filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Jeff and daughter-in-law Karrie, granddaughters Abbie and Anna, and sister Nancy Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents Kermit D and Kathryn Toms and sisters, Vicky Toms and Jean Coleman. A visitation will be held on February 10th 4:00pm - 5:30pm at Tobias Funeral Home 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Dayton, OH 45432 with celebration of life immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center. Danny will be remembered for his dedication to his craft, his love of racing, and, most of all, the kindness and love he shared with those around him. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the cars he so meticulously restored.
